Our editorial approach
The journal helps tradespeople organise their preparation and find reliable information about the Red Seal. It is written by Pass Red Seal, an independent exam preparation platform.
Official sources for exam requirements
Articles about exam format, registration and trade standards link to the Red Seal Program or the responsible provincial or territorial authority. The source-check date is shown with each article. Requirements can change; your authority and booking instructions take precedence over our summaries.
Study suggestions are separate from official rules
Schedules, error logs and suggested practice routines are our own editorial guidance. They are not official training requirements, technical field instructions or a guarantee of passing. We do not publish actual exam questions or claim that private practice questions are official.
Authorship and updates
Articles identify Pass Red Seal as the author and link to our about page. We use AI-assisted drafting and check factual exam claims against the linked sources. We do not claim a trade expert reviewed an article unless that review is actually documented. Publication and modification dates describe substantive content changes.
News needs a dated source
When covering a change to a standard, exam or programme, we identify the issuing organisation, link to its announcement and distinguish the announcement date from the date a change takes effect. A new standard does not necessarily mean an exam has already changed.
